Textile innovation for wildland firefighter equipment

Longer droughts, stronger winds and more intense wildfires are increasing the demands placed on wildland firefighters and their protective equipment.

Safety and comfort must work together

The UNE-EN ISO 15384:2020 standard establishes the current benchmark for wildland firefighting clothing. Fabrics must provide reliable protection while remaining light, breathable and flexible enough for prolonged physical work.

MARKO AS 70RS EA incorporates elastane into an advanced fiber blend to improve freedom of movement. ARAMAR V240 combines aramid, FR viscose and elastane to balance protection, resilience and comfort.

Protection for demanding rescue work

Both fabric developments also comply with UNE-EN 16689:2017 for technical rescue clothing, supporting agility and protection across increasingly complex emergency operations.

Textile innovation is therefore not only a performance improvement. It is an essential part of helping wildland firefighters work safely and effectively in changing conditions.
