Towards a more circular technical textile industry

LIFE-CIRTECHTEX, led by Marina Textil and co-funded by the EU LIFE Programme, continues to transform pre- and post-consumer textile waste into recycled fabrics for personal protective equipment.

Technical progress through collaboration

Project partners are reviewing the technical challenges of recycling protective textile materials and adapting manufacturing processes. Their shared goal is to incorporate recycled content while maintaining the safety, functionality and performance expected from PPE products.

Cooperation between specialized manufacturers and technology centers helps identify operational barriers early and develop solutions that can move from controlled testing to industrial production.

Sharing results with the industry

The project has presented its progress to occupational-safety and textile professionals, including at A+A Düsseldorf and a LEITAT workshop focused on eco-design and textile circularity.

Looking forward

As the project enters its final stage, the consortium will continue validating recycled fabrics and demonstrating how circular processes can be applied responsibly to high-performance technical textiles.
